1. Acceptance of Terms
By accessing or using the loves-to.dev subdomain service (the "Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, you may not use the Service.
Important: By submitting a pull request to register a subdomain, you automatically accept these terms.
2. Description of Service
loves-to.dev provides free subdomain registration services under the *.loves-to.dev
domain. The Service allows developers to:
- Register and use subdomains for personal projects, portfolios, and development purposes
- Point their subdomain to various hosting platforms
- Access DNS management through our GitHub-based registration system
3. Eligibility and Account Requirements
3.1 Eligibility
You must have a valid GitHub account to use the Service. You represent that all information you provide is accurate and current.
3.2 One Subdomain Per User
Each user is limited to one subdomain registration. Multiple registrations by the same individual are prohibited.
3.3 Subdomain Requirements
Subdomain names must:
- Be alphanumeric (a-z, 0-9) and hyphens only
- Be between 1-63 characters in length
- Not infringe on trademarks or existing rights
- Not be offensive, abusive, or inappropriate
4. Acceptable Use Policy
4.1 Permitted Uses
You may use your subdomain for:
- Personal portfolios and websites
- Open source projects and documentation
- Educational and learning purposes
- Non-commercial development projects
4.2 Prohibited Uses
You may not use your subdomain for:
- Illegal activities or content
- Spam, phishing, or malicious activities
- Hosting copyrighted content without permission
- Adult content or gambling services
- Cryptocurrency mining or similar resource-intensive activities
- Commercial activities without prior approval
5. Service Availability and Modifications
5.1 Service Availability
We strive to maintain high availability but do not guarantee uninterrupted service. The Service is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind.
5.2 Modifications to Service
We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue the Service at any time with or without notice.
5.3 DNS Propagation
DNS changes may take up to 48 hours to propagate globally. We are not responsible for delays in DNS propagation.
6. Termination and Suspension
We may suspend or terminate your subdomain for:
- Violation of these Terms
- Inactivity for more than 12 months
- Abuse complaints or legal issues
- Technical or security reasons
Notice: We will attempt to provide 30 days notice before termination, except in cases of abuse or legal requirements.
7. Privacy and Data
7.1 Information Collection
We collect minimal information necessary to provide the Service, including your GitHub username and subdomain preferences.
7.2 Data Usage
Your information is used solely to maintain and improve the Service. We do not sell or share your data with third parties.
7.3 Public Information
Subdomain registrations are public information visible in our GitHub repository.
8. Intellectual Property
8.1 Service Ownership
The loves-to.dev service, including all related trademarks and intellectual property, is owned by the project maintainers.
8.2 User Content
You retain all rights to content hosted on your subdomain. You are solely responsible for ensuring you have the right to use any content you host.
9. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law:
- The Service is provided "as is" without warranties
- We are not liable for any damages arising from use of the Service
- Our liability is limited to the amount you paid for the Service (which is $0)
- We are not responsible for content hosted on user subdomains
10. Changes to Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the new Terms. We will notify users of significant changes through our GitHub repository.
11. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction where the service is operated. Any disputes will be resolved in the appropriate courts of that jurisdiction.
